Distributed free rice to 40.34 lakh families across the state

State Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Kodali Srivenkateswara Rao (Nani) has said that 40 lakh 34 thousand 535 rice cardholders have so far been provided with free quality Sortex rice across the state for the month of June.

Minister Kodali Nani spoke to the media at Krishna District Gudivada.  Last May, rice was distributed at the rate of 10 kg per member of families with rice cards.  There are a total of one crore 47 lakh 73 thousand 660 rice cards in the state.  Last year, 16 installments of essential commodities were provided free of cost to prevent the poor from going hungry due to lock-down sanctions imposed by the central and state governments. CM Jaganmohan Reddy had decided to once again distribute quality rice free of cost in May and June in view of the severity of the Corona second wave.

Meanwhile, Kurnool district has a total of 12 lakh 18 thousand 884 rice cards and so far 3 lakh 64 thousand 457 cards have been supplied free of cost.  Prakasam district has a total of 9 lakh 99 thousand 724 rice cards up to 2 lakh 89 thousand 795 cards, West Godavari district has a total of 12 lakh 45 thousand 356 rice cards up to now 3 lakh 52 thousand 345 cards, YSR Kadapa district has a total of 8 lakh 16 thousand 930.  While there are rice cards for 2 lakh 26 thousand 912 cards till now, Chittoor district has a total of 11 lakh 59 thousand 252 rice cards till now 2 lakh 96 thousand 395 cards, Visakhapatnam district has a total of 12 lakh 75 thousand 895 rice cards till now 3 lakh 48 thousand 833  For cards, Vijayanagaram district has a total of 6 lakh 97 thousand 598 rice cards up to one lakh 82 thousand 292 cards, Anantapur district has a total of 12 lakh 22 thousand 637 rice cards up to now 3 lakh 42 thousand 132 cards, Guntur district has a total of 14 lakh 83 thousand 459.  While there are rice cards for 4 lakh 18 thousand 041 cards till now, in East Godavari district there are 16 lakh 48 thousand 507 rice cards for 4 lakh 02 thousand 744 cards till now.  Krishna district has a total of 13 lakh 01 thousand 929 rice cards up to 3 lakh 83 thousand 412 cards, Srikakulam district has a total of 8 lakh 14 thousand 257 rice cards up to now 1 lakh 97 thousand 579 cards and Nellore district has a total of 8 lakh 89 thousand 232 rice cards.  So far 2 lakh 29 thousand 598 cards have been provided free of cost.

Meanwhile, the distribution of essentials to rice cardholders across the state is on the rise.  29.90 per cent in Kurnool district, 28.99 per cent in Prakasam district, 27.78 per cent in YSR Kadapa district, 27.98 per cent in Anantapur district, 28.29 per cent in West Godavari district, 25.57 per cent in Chittoor District, 28.18 per cent in Guntur district, 26.13 per cent in Vijayanagaram district, 27.34 per cent in Visakhapatnam district and 24.43 per cent in East Godavari.  Minister Kodali Nani said that 29.45 per cent of the distribution process was completed in the Krishna district, 24.26 per cent in Srikakulam district and 25.82 per cent in Nellore district.
