Gudivada, May 22: There are one crore 47 lakh 27 thousand 764 rice cards in the state, of which one crore 30 lakh 63 thousand 903 cardholders have so far been distributed free sortex quality rice, said Kodali Srivenkateswara Rao (Nani), Minister of State for Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs. Minister Kodali Nani spoke to reporters at Krishna District Gudivada on Saturday. As per the directions of CM Jaganmohan Reddy, the Civil Supplies Department is supplying rice at the rate of 10 kg per member of the families with rice cards in May and June. CM Jaganmohan Reddy had decided to once again distribute quality rice free of cost in May and June in view of the severity of the second wave. He said the distribution of essential commodities to rice cardholders across the state was going on regularly. 88.54 per cent in Kurnool district, 88.11 per cent in Prakasam district, 90.72 per cent in Kadapa district, 89.74 per cent in Anantapur district, 89.93 per cent in West Godavari district, 87.57 per cent in Chittoor district, 86.27 per cent in Guntur district, 93.38 per cent in Vijayanagaram district, 90.26 per cent in Visakhapatnam district and 88.60 per cent in East Godavari district. In Krishna district 86.21 per cent, Srikakulam district 90.50 per cent and Nellore district 86.47 per cent distribution process has been completed.
Meanwhile, Prakasam district has a total of 9 lakh 96 thousand 073 rice cards and so far 8 lakh 77 thousand 738 cards have been handed over. 10 lakh 74 thousand 842 cards in Kurnool district till now, 11 lakh 17 thousand 434 cards in West Godavari district, 7 lakh 37 thousand 996 cards in Kadapa district, 10 lakh 11 thousand 477 cards in Chittoor district, 11 lakh 49 thousand 037 cards in Visakhapatnam district, Vijayanagaram. 6 lakh 49 thousand 813 cards in the district, 10 lakh 92 thousand 080 cards in Anantapur district, 12 lakh 75 thousand 942 cards in Guntur district, 14 lakh 57 thousand 479 cards in East Godavari district, 11 lakh 19 thousand 585 cards in Krishna district and 7 lakh 33 thousand 462 in Srikakulam district. Minister Kodali Nani said that rice was provided free of cost for 7 lakh 67 thousand 019 cards in Nellore district.
