YCP 28 MPs nodding their heads like puppets
Centre clarified VSP put on sale with Jagan approval
TDP will support Amalapuram girl’s agitation against YCP rowdies
AMARAVATI: TDP National General Secretary and MLC Nara Lokesh on Tuesday expressed concern that the Central Government was going ahead with its plans to sell away the Visakha Steel Plant in the absence of any resistance from the ruling YCP Ministers, MLAs and MPs in Andhra Pradesh.
Mr. Lokesh accused Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy of planning to buy the prime property of the Steel Plant at very low scrap values. All the 28 YCP MPs were doing nothing to save the VSP and they were just nodding their heads like puppets while the CM was doing gross injustice to the Andhra people.
In a statement here, Mr. Lokesh asserted that their party would not let go of this issue just like that and they would go to any lengths in order to foil the devious plans of the Chief Minister to destroy the Steel Plant. The Centre has already clarified that there was prior approval of CM Jagan Reddy for the privatisation of the VSP. The whole process to privatise the Steel Plant was being informed to the State Government at all stages.
Mr. Lokesh advised CM Jagan to stop his drama since the people would not believe in his letter written to the Prime Minister expressing his fake opposition to the Steel Plant. Nobody would believe in the fake statements of the YCP Ministers and leaders any more on the issue of the VSP. All sections were determined to continue and intensify their agitation till the privatisation plan was withdrawn.
Earlier, Mr. Nara Lokesh slammed the Jagan Reddy Government for ‘failing’ to give justice to Amalapuram girl Byrisetti Renuka though she boldly came forward and filed a case in the police station against the culprits. It was laudable that Renuka courageously entered the contest in the municipal elections with the sole motive of taking on the YCP goondas and to make sure no other girl should suffer like her in future.
Mr. Lokesh asked how innocent women could be saved when the Ministers themselves were shamelessly making all out efforts to save the perpetrators of crimes and atrocities against women and girls. Jagan Reddy spoke eloquently at the time of elections that he would come at a bullet speed to save girls who were in distress or under attack. After coming to power, the CM has failed to protect even a single woman. The Chief Minister, who promised justice in 21 days, was now seen nowhere when there was no justice even for a single girl in the past 21 months of the YCP regime.
Mr. Lokesh demanded the Government and the officials concerned to take stringent action against the culprits who were responsible for the woes of Amalapuram girl Renuka. A case should be filed and severe punishment should be awarded to the guilty persons.
