Jagan failed to get better deal to AP in Central budget
Nominations should be filed in all 3,335 panchayats in 2nd phase
Everybody needs to fight for democracy in State
AMARAVATI: TDP National President and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday lauded the contesting candidates who were filing their nominations in the panchayat elections without succumbing to the pressure tactics of the ruling YCP MLAs and leaders.
Mr. Naidu asserted that the ruling party Ministers and MLAs were resorting to politics of threats and intimidations because of their cowardice and fear of defeat. Over 3,335 panchayats were going to the polls in the second phase. The candidates should file their nominations in all these seats without fear.
Addressing a teleconference with party leaders in the second phase, the TDP chief enquired from them about the progress of the nominations and urged them for ensuring hundred percent nominations without any slippages. The nominations should be filed without waiting or delay. If there would be any mistakes, they could be rectified later. It was the duty of everyone to fight and restore democracy in Andhra Pradesh.
Mr. Naidu called for the contesting candidates to send the copies of their nominations along with the enclosures to the District Panchayat Officers, District Collectors and the TDP Central Office. The YCP was trying to destroy all democratic systems and institutions in the State. It is high time that the general public should fight back and put the ruling party in its place. It cannot threaten everybody with false cases and false arrests forever.
Mr. Naidu deplored that the Chief Minister did not do a single useful thing for the State except betraying all sections of the people with his false promises. Jagan Reddy could get nothing for AP in the Union Budget. There were no funds for Polavaram and Amaravati. The CM failed totally to get funds to fill the first year’s revenue deficit, for development of 7 backward districts and for implementing various items under the Reorganisation Act.
The TDP chief asserted that the YCP 28 MPs have mortgaged the State’s interests for the sake of ensuring relief to the CM in his illegal assets cases. The YCP leaders were not aiming at development of either urban or rural areas in the State. If the YCP supported candidates win in the panchayat elections, the ruling party leaders would loot all the Rs. 5,000 Cr NREGS funds without passing these benefits to the people.
Stating that the TDP regime carried out a lot of development under the NREGS works, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu said that the Central budget allocated Rs. 73,000 Cr for all STates under NREGS. Amendment was made to last year’s revised budget of Rs. 1,11,500 Cr. Under the TDP rule, Rs. 8,000 Cr NREGS funds were brought to the State per year on an average. Now, the elected sarpanches can take up Rs. 5 Cr worth works in each village in the next five years with the help of both Finance Commission and NREGS works.
Mr. Naidu deplored that TDP leader K. Pattabhi was attacked just for questioning the YCP Ministers and MLAs’ corruption. The ruling party leaders were losing patience and making murderous attacks. They have eliminated Nandam Subbaiah in Proddatur, Guru Pratap Reddy in Jammalamadugu, Om Pratap in Punganur and others. The YCP has turned the laws in favour of its atrocities. The Indian Penal Code has been changed to the Jagan Reddy Penal Code. Atchannaidu was arrested for no fault of his. The YCP maniacs were undermining the rule of law at every level in the State.
