In Cyberabad Commissionerate ‘Operation Smile-Vll’was conducted in the month of January 2021, to trace out missing children and rescue children from Begging, Rag picking, Child labour etc.

For these operations, total 9 teams were formed Division wise in Cyberabad Commissionerate consisting 1 SI, 3 PCs and 1 WPC in each Sub-Division, one AHTU Team also participated in the program.

Cases Registered during Smile-VII

             105 Cases were registered under various sections concerned to crime against children u/s 374 IPC, 75, 79 Juvenile Justice Act 2015 and u/sec 14 of Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Amendment Act 2016.

1.(17) Children rescued from Samad Bangles company, Mailardevpally.

On 11-01-2021 as part of their duties Operation Smile-Vll Team and Child Line Team officials raided Samad Bangles company at Roshan Colony, Vattepally, under MailardevpallyPolice Station limits and found (17) minor children engaged in Bangle making. They were kept in locked room and made to work on Bangles. They were not provided sufficient food and clothes due to which their health was getting affected.  On enquiry it was revealed that the wages paid to them were also very less and not regular, also their working hours were long without any breaks.  All the minors were brought from Bihar State. A case was registered in Cr. No. 29/2021U/s 374 IPC, 79 JJ Act & 14 Child Labour Actat MailardevpallyPS. The Children were sent to Shelter Home after producing them before the Child Welfare Committee, Ranga Reddy.

Rescue of child labour it was observed that :

  • The children were made to worgk from dawn to dusk for more than 12 hours, without any break.
  • They were living in unhygienic condition in small rooms without ventilation.
  • They were not provided any holiday.
  • The children were suffering from malnutrition, stunted growth and other health issues.
  • Children were covered with fine dust from head to toe.
  • They were aged between 08 years to 14 years.
  1. (12) Children rescued from Nawaz Amusement at JP Dharga, Kothur.

On 22-01-2021 as part of their duties in Operation Smile-VlI, Child Line team, officials of Labour Department and DCPU raided Nawaz Amusement at JP Dharga of Inmulnarva village, Kothur found that (12) minors age between 12-16 years were engaged in labour work and they were operating heavy loaded machineryand issuing entry tickets.  The Smile-VII Team apprehended the owner of the company for violation of the child labour act rules.  A case was registered in Cr. No. 32/2021 U/s 14 Child Labour Act and 79 JJ Act, at Kothur PS.The Children were sent to Shelter Home after producing them before the Child Welfare Committee.

  1. (06) Children rescued from Neeti Engineering at Dulapally Industrial are.

On 20-01-2021 as part of their duties Operation Smile-VlI, Child Line team, officials of Labour Department and DCPU raided Neeti Engineering at Dulapally Industrial Area found that (6) minors were engaged in labour work and they were operating heavy loaded machinery.  All the minors were brought from Bihar State bylabour contractor.The Smile-VII Team apprehended the owner of the company for violation of the child labour act rules.  A case was registered in Cr. No. 77/2021 U/s 75 JJ Act and 14(i)(A) of Child Labour Act and, at Petbasheerabad PS.

  1. (01) Rescued one Domestic Child labour

On 09-01-2021 as part of their duties Operation Smile Team, Child Line team, officials of Labour Department and DCPU received credible information that a minor girl age about 11yrs her mother and father came to Hyderabad as migrant laborers. After the death of their father, they were still working as laborers due to poor financial condition.  The minor girl is studying 7th class and doing domestic work since from lockdown period.A case was registered inCr.No. 41/2021 U/s 79 J.J. Actand 14 of Child Labour Act at Rajendranagar PS.

  • CLASSIC CASE :

Operation Smile-7, AHTU Cyberabad Commissionerate team has visited several Homes located at Cyberabad Commissionerate. While checking the team identified a child at vivekanada home, Miyapur. While going through her case file it was noticed that at the age of 2 ½ years, she was found at Charminar and handed over to the CWC. From there the child was shifted to Happy Home at Bodduppal after that in the best interest of child she was shifted to Vivekanada Home Miyapur.The AHTU team searched the records of all the Police Stations in Charminar area and came to know that her who was missing in 2005 year at Charminar area. Further the operation SMILE-7 AHTU team rebuilt the case and on enquiry it was found that the child was missing from parents at Charminar area and parents reported case at Hussanialam PS in Cr.No: 188/2005 u/s Girl Missing, missing child details Basrum D/o Molla Khaja Minduddin, R/o: Yerraguntla (V), Sirivilla (M) Kurnool Dist, A.P was registered but it was referred as Undetected in year  2005. AHTU team approached the parents of the child and showed the pictures taken by them. On which the parents visited the home and identified the child as their own daughter based on identification marks.
