Illegal blasting damages Yaganti Shaiva Khsetram
YCP mafia should be strongly punished

AMARAVATI: TDP National General Secretary Nara Lokesh on Thursday demanded the YCP Government to take immediate action against the persons responsible for the unlawful mining going on in the close vicinity of the noted Shaiva Kshetram at Yaganti in Kurnool district.

Mr. Lokesh deplored that the illegal blasting has damaged the ‘Valasa Basavaiah Mandapam’ in the temple premises. All this damage was because of the uncontrolled activities of the ruling YCP mining mafia. The unlawful blasting was continuing without any concern for the sentiments of the devotees.

In a statement here, the TDP MLC and former Minister urged the Government for taking up all the necessary repairs to bring the damaged Mandapam to its original shape. It was condemnable that the Jagan Reddy regime was turning indifferent to the problems and issues relating to the temples and their maintenance and preservation.

Mr. Lokesh said that unless stringent punishment was given to the responsible persons, these harmful activities would continue and multiply. Since the YCP came to power in the State, the mafia activities were on the rise in mining, sand, liquor, cement and all areas where there was scope for making quick money. The natural resources and wealth of Andhra Pradesh was under severe threat.

Asserting that the TDP would not keep silent, Mr. Lokesh said that their party would agitate further for the protection of the temples in the wake of the latest incidents. The adamant Government was not waking from its slumber. The time would come when the ruling YCP would pay a heavy price for its omissions and commissions.
