AP Police implementing Jagan Penal Code but not Indian Penal Code

YCP will stand as a culprit in people’s court for its atrocities

AMARAVATI: TDP National President and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday expressed concern over the manner in which the Jaganmohan Reddy Government was undermining the constitution without realising its harmful consequences for the future of the State.

Mr. Naidu stressed the need for creating awareness among the public how the AP Government was attacking the four pillars of democracy which were the legislature, judiciary, executive and the media. In this process, the ruing party was blackmailing the officials, employees and all sections with its terror tactics like false cases and false arrests.

The TDP chief hoisted the Tricolour at the party central office in Mangalagiri and paid rich tributes to the freedom fighters who bravely fought for achieving indepenence under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi. Former Ministers, party senior leaders and cadres attended the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Naidu termed it as unfortunate that the Jagan regime did not change its adamant attitude even after repeated strictures passed by the courts against its unconstitutional decisions. It went on undermining the constitutional institutions like the State Election Commission and continuing political harassment against the Opposition. No efforts were made to preven the attacks and atrocities on the SCs, STs, BCs and Muslim Minorities.

Mr. Naidu said that there was a duty on the part of everyone to save democracy in Andhra Pradesh for which sacrifices would have to be made to resist the Jagan Reddy Government’s oppression. The YCP would eventually stand a culprit for all its atrocities in the people’s court. In its latest comments, the Supreme Court clearly said that an ego battle was raging in AP because of the State Government’s actions. The employees’ association violated the constitution by passing resolutions against the panchayat elections. This was clear how the YCP blackmailed employees and made them surrener to it.

Accusing some sections of AP Police conniving with the ruling party, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu said that it was the ‘Jagan Reddy Penal Code’ but not the ‘Indian Penal Code’ that was being implemented in AP. A sort of Police Rajyam was going on to perpetrate the YCP mafia rule in sand, liquor, mining, contracts, etc. A Jungle Raj is prevailing with the citizens and all sections being deprived of their fundamental rights amid frequent violations of human rights.

Mr. Naidu deplored that the Indian constitution provided all checks and balances keeping in mind the future danger of fascist rulers like Mr. Jagan Reddy. Dr BR Ambedkar’s constitution has provided all safeguards against the challenges posed by bad rulers. However, the Jagan regime has not been implementing the Ambedkar constitution but it was foisting the lawless Raja Reddy constitution on the people. Under this, there would be no fundamental rights or equal opportunities. Suppression and corruption would be the order of the day.

The TDP chief pointed out that during the election process, the State Government staff should function under the State Election Commission but not the Chief Minister. Such constitutional necessities were followed duly under the previous TDP Government. The YCP was bringing black GOs like GO 2430 to terrify even the media to put them in jail if they write against the Government. Some were even put in jail already. The YSR regime went back on its ‘media watch’ GO following the TDP protest at that time but the Jagan regime continued its arrogant attitude.

Mr. Naidu recalled how the SC, ST atrocities cases were unlawfully filed against the TDP SC leaders when they went to protest over the murder of an SC woman in Pulivendula constituency. The SC Madiga woman was brutally murdered when she went to graze her cattle but no action was taken till now.

TDP leader B.Tech Ravi was harassed and arrested at the airport as if he was a terrorist. Atchannaidu, Lollur Ravindra and Kodela Sivaprasada Rao were subjected to harassment. A strong leader like former Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao committed suicide unable to bear humiliatio in the hands of the Jagan Government.
