Naidu lauds Air India all-women crew over polar feat


Women pilots created history by flying over North Pole

AMARAVATI: TDP chief and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday heaped praise on the Indian women pilots’ team for their spectacular achievement by flying the world’s second largest flight over the North Pole.

Mr. Naidu congratulated Captain Zoya and her all-women Air India crew that scripted history by flying the San Francisco-Bengaluru flight, over the North Pole. They did the entire India proud with their exceptional performance. In just 16 hours, the women pilots flew Boeing 777 non-stop for over 13,993 kms and created a record.

In a statement here, the TDP chief said that the credit would go to the Indian women pilots for flying a commercial flight for the longest distance in the world’s history. Pilots Zoya Aggarwal, Thanmei, Akanksha Sonaware and Shivani Manhas would deserve all praise for successfully performing this feat. All Indians were feeling proud of these women pilots
